Freebord.com over the years..

Freebord Mfg., founded in 1997,  has seen its fair share of websites, and for this week’s #Throwbackthursday, we’re taking you on a trip down memory lane.

1998 – The first stop along this journey is brought to you by the year 1998; our first website in all its simplistic glory.

2000 – Next stop is the year 2000, pretty solid design, still keeping it simple, keep in mind e-commerce is rather unheard of at this time, and how about those trucks!

2002 – Looks like we survived the Y2k bug, and we have discovered flash.

2005

2005 – This is where is starts to get very nostalgic for me. Freebord contracted a pretty crazy webdesign company by the name of “The Vacum“.  They created this truly unique and interactive work of art. While it may of lacked a lot of key characteristics of any proper website such as, ease of use, navigability, or even a clearly defined product – it made up for with its eerie mystique!  All that being said, this site is pretty cool, and way ahead of it’s time.

2006

2006 – This year proved to be an amazing year for Freebord, and we had one very sick website. This site is so fucking cool, let me tell you why; there are easter eggs everywhere!  You mouse over a snowboarder’s head, it starts snowing, and weird arms come out of his head.  Click on the stop sign, and Bigfoot-esque creature literally traverses’ it’s way across your screen- don’t believe me? Check it yourself!  There are quite a bit more, but I think you get the point, this website had some kick ass easter eggs, and these vacuum guys have good weed.

2010

2010 – Pretty straighforward.

2011

2011– This site served us well, and I will always have love for it, especially since it’s background was of Mike Hoppe, Arnaud Blin, Keith Johnsguard, and of course yours truly, on one of the most iconic hills in San Francisco (Filbert St).

Here we are, 2014, and we finally have a new design.  We’ve spent quite a lot of time getting our new site ready, and while there are still quite a few bugs to work out, we are super stoked on how it turned out! There’s a new team section, that will be updated with each riders personal setup, blog entries, tuning tips, etc.  We’ve revamped the blog, added a few parallax sliders here and there, made it much easier to find videos, and this is only the beginning. So don’t just take my word for it, go check it out for yourself!
