Snowboard on the Pavement with a Freebord
By Derek Markham

Jonesin’ to shred but there’s no snow in sight? Looking to put some more fun and excitement into your downhill runs? Take an ordinary stretch of road and turn it into a sweet place to slide and shred with a Freebord, the skateboard that lets you snowboard on dry pavement.

The Freebord lets you simulate snowboarding because of two extra wheels mounted in the center of the board, which enable the board to move in all directions. The outer wheels are the de facto ‘edges’ of the board, and because they are positioned slightly off the ground, a rider can either apply weight to them for carving, or put the weight on the center wheels for some wicked sliding.

Here’s a little teaser of what a Freebord is capable of, captured on some of the gnarly hills of San Francisco:

Progression and innovation is what drives us. Through years of evolution and rider driven design, Freebord has engineered a setup that rides exactly like a snowboard on pavement.
