HAPPPY 25th BIRTHDAY FREEBORD
Freebord officially became a business on May 28 1997, 25 years ago today, in a garage in San Francisco’s outer mission district. Until this past year Freebord spent its entire life within 2 miles of that original house. After moving to a second garage on Potrero Hill Freebord moved to a shared warehouse space deep in the dog patch right on San Francisco bays water front. From there Freebord moved to its longtime warehouse at the base of Potrero Hill. These days we have embraced the pandemic style business and gone fully remote, operating out of a virtual workspace in San Francisco’s West Portal.
In these 25 years Freebord has made hundreds of prototypes and 5 production designs spanning 8 productions.
We have had dozens of employees
We have shared our stoke with 1000’s of riders from all over the world
We have made friends, and lost friends.
Had good days and bad days
Some of us got old, and some haven’t even started
Sometimes we chill, sometimes we work hard

Like many 25 year old people around the world we march towards greatness on cusp of failure.
Today we remember where we came from and all the good times along the way. We’ll take take a moment to look though our old photos and remember all the stupid shit that we have done, and realize that’s the most fun we have ever had. 25 years later we are happy to be alive and we look forward to tomorrow, the first day of the next 25 years.
